Silver Spring Studio is a day program for adults 16 and older with developmental disabilities, run by the Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OCAPDD). We are a creative studio first, a place where art, cooking, gardening, and craft are the vehicles for friendship, skill-building, and joy. Set on Silver Spring Farm in Nepean, Ottawa, we've built something that feels less like a program and more like a community.
Our Story - Born on a farm. Built for community.
Silver Spring Studio sits at 1705 Robertson Road in Nepean - adjacent to Silver Spring Farm, where local volunteers grow garlic each season. The farm's peaceful rhythm shapes everything about the studio: the pace, the seasonal cooking classes, the view from the windows that inspires our painters.
Silver Spring Studio is an initiative of OCAPDD, an organization that has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities in Ottawa since 1950. What started as a need - a creative, welcoming space for people who wanted to learn and make things - has grown into a vibrant community of artists, cooks, gardeners, and friends.

Silver Spring Studio is proudly run under the umbrella of OCAPDD — the Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. OCAPDD has supported adults with developmental disabilities in Ottawa and Cornwall since 1950, operating residential programs, employment services, and day programs across more than 26 sites. When you register at Silver Spring Studio, you're joining a network of experienced, caring professionals with decades of community trust behind them.
