Our Story
Silver Spring Studio is an Ottawa-based creative day program where adults 18+ with developmental disabilities come to make, learn, and belong. Our mission is to enrich lives through meaningful creative experiences - rooted in the belief that every person deserves purpose, community, and the chance to grow.
Through art, cooking, gardening, crafting, and more, we provide a safe and supportive space where participants are seen, valued, and celebrated - not just for what they create, but for who they are.
As a program operating under OCAPDD, one of Ottawa's most trusted disability support organizations, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of care, creativity, and community every single day.
Meet the team
Rosemarie
Service Development Consultant
I have a career in social work spanning over 45 years. I have worked for OCAPDD for 19 years in various roles but most recently as Service Development Consultant at Silver Spring Studio. My role is to focus on program development, quality control and fundraising. Fortunately, I love art and the process of learning to develop new skills within various creative outlets. My job is easy to do as I constantly hear laughter and see happy people enjoying their activity at the Studio.
Melanie
Service Development Consultant
I have worked in OCAPDD for ten years, most of those in the recreational program setting. I love engaging with others in a fun learning environment, encouraging them in their creativity. Silver Spring Studio is the perfect place for this! I get to see people express true joy and happiness on a daily basis and I am full of gratitude.
Chloe
Service Development Consultant
My journey with OCAPDD began in 2024, shortly after I joined Silver Spring Studio, and it has been a dream ever since. Growing up in a creative family with my mother working as a mixed media artist-art has always been an important part of my life. Along with my love of creativity, I have a background in psychology and understand the importance of self-expression, connection, and belonging. I am grateful to be part of a supportive and inclusive environment where artists can express themselves, build community, and thrive.
