Open since 2022, the studio offers hands-on classes in visual arts, cooking, gardening, and crafts in a welcoming, farm-inspired setting. Our goal is to help participants build skills, make connections, and enjoy a full and meaningful week.

Who is eligible to attend Silver Spring Studio?
Silver Spring Studio is open to adults aged 18 and over who have a developmental disability. Participants do not need prior art or creative experience — all skill levels are welcome. If you are unsure whether your family member qualifies, please get in touch and we'll be happy to talk it through with you.
How do I register my family member for classes?
Registering is simple. Fill out our online intake form — it takes about 10 minutes and covers basic contact information, program preferences, and any support considerations we should know about. Once we receive your form, a member of our team will be in touch within two working days to discuss next steps and confirm availability.
Is there a waitlist?
Class spots are limited to 15 participants per session. If a class is at capacity when you apply, we will add your family member to our waitlist and contact you as soon as a spot becomes available. We recommend submitting the intake form as early as possible to secure your preferred schedule.
Do I need prior experience to join a workshop?
Not at all. Every program is designed to be welcoming to participants of all skill levels. Our instructors provide step-by-step guidance in a supportive, pressure-free environment.
What programs and activities does the studio offer?
Our programs cover a wide range of creative and practical activities, including visual arts (drawing, painting, and Dutch pour painting), cooking and baking (including canning and pickling), gardening and farm-to-table experiences, and crafts such as soap making, candle making, and more. Classes are designed to be engaging, hands-on, and accessible to all skill levels. Participants can explore different activities and discover what they love most.
How long is each class?
Each class runs for approximately 2-4 hours. We offer two sessions per day a mor-ning session and an afternoon session - Monday through Friday, with Saturday classes also available. Please contact us for the current schedule and session times.
How do I register for a workshop?
Workshops are listed and booked through My Community Hub, Ottawa's platform for disability programs. You can view upcoming sessions, check availability, and register online.
How much do classes cost?
Class fees at Silver Spring Studio are starting from $60 per session. We believe cost should not be a barrier to participation, which is why we accept Passport funding to cover or offset the cost of attending. If you are unsure about funding options, our team is happy to walk you through what may be available to your family member.
